  • What is the difference between Clinical and Therapeutic Massage?
Medical massage incorporates many of the same techniques as therapeutic massage, along with more advanced modalities. Medical massage includes orthopedic testing and treatment plan. One of the most common technique used in medical massage is myofascial mobilization to reduce connective tissue restrictions, scar tissue, and open nerve roots. The goal of medical technique is to produce permanent changes in the soft tissue and it has to be done regularly as a treatment. The follow up appointments are scheduled weekly or biweekly. Therapeutic massage doesn't include orthopedic assessment and treatment plan. It focuses on reducing muscle tension and discomfort and promote general relaxation for the whole body. If you have chronic pain, current or past injuries, or chronic illness, medical massage is one of the treatment options to understand the source of your pain and create a customized treatment plan. https://www.greatanatomytherapy.com/general-8
